Such a great place, great food, great service. A gem in the midst of all the expensive madness. Great food anywhere any price. But the price here even makes it more of special meal. Lunch specials that make it affordable to eat out. Consistently great all the time and with a smile. Thank you for feeding us!
Amazing Greek food and incredible lunch prices. Definitely try the falafel, best I’ve found in San Diego. Owner is very kind and the service is good.

Alexis Greek restaurant up town at 3863 5th avenue. My wife and wardered in one day while looking for new restaurants to try out. We ordered a Greek salad and two Gyros for lunch. The plates are prepared by two men who have been running the place for 28 years. Reservations we have never needed and I doubt they take. It is and older building that has not changed much over the years. The service is fast, the food is excellent, and the staff are usually busy but very friendly. I hate to give away this diamond in the rough but fair is fair. Everyone who wanders in like we did 8 years ago keeps coming back as we do.
I’ve been coming to Alexi’s for years—honestly close to a decade by now. I came most recently last night, and I hadn’t been in quite a while. Everything was as I remembered. The owner is extremely friendly. The food is classic Greek cafe/diner food. My friend and I ordered a gyro pita sandwich, a small Greek salad, and a chicken kabob with a side of tzatziki. Everything was awesome! The meats were seasoned and flavorful, the salad super fresh, and the tzatziki was incredibly well-crafted. This is a low-key, no-frills Greek joint in the heart of an overly gentrified area, but it holds its own and has for years. The interior isn’t going to wow you, but it will transport you back to the 90s and make you feel like you’re at home and welcome. Definitely come by and try out some of the items! The baklava is really good here as well.
Trying to get a home cooked meal + actually afford the meal? I love to support a local spot, + this is the spot you should try if you like Greek food. Generous portions at extremely affordable prices. Alexi deserves way more praise than he receives. To get such a good meal in this economy deserves accolades. ????????
I was drawn in by the mysterious blue lights, and I’m so glad I walked in! The owner was so sweet, and the food was delicious and really affordable. It’s amazing that they’re able to keep such great prices. Highly recommended!
